In July 1997 the first Annual General Meeting was held at our new club in Santa Venera for which a very large number of members were present. During this meeting a memorable speech was made by the President John Zammit wherein he recommended that Joe Schembri should take his place as President and this to show his personal gratitude and that of the members for the sacrifices made by Joe Schembri during the construction of the new premises. In fact on the 10th July 1997 the first committee meeting was held at the club's new premises and Joe Schembri was elected as President of the club, John Zammit General Secretary, Lawrence Cutajar Vice-President and Angelo Schembri Treasurer.
Another important occasion was when on 26th June 1997 a 24-hour Billiard Marathon was held at our club in the aid of the Community Chest Fund during which famous billiard players participated including Tony Drago and Alex Borg. On this day our club was honoured by the visit of His Excellency Dr. Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, President of the Republic of Malta, who was the first President of the state to attend an activity of our club - but he was not the last. On the 7th April 1999 the club organized the first party for orphans and other children who live in orphanages and other Institutes around Malta that take care of these unfortunate children. This party was held at Villa Lija and more than 100 children together with nuns and other guardians attended. This activity was honoured by the presence of His Excellency President Emeritus Prof. Guido De Marco, who had just succeeded Dr Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, a few days earlier. In fact this activity was the first official appointment attended by Prof. De Marco in his capacity as President of the Republic of Malta. This activity is still being held every year and has become part of the calendar of our club.
On the 9th June 1999 another Annual General Meeting was held at the club's premises in Santa Venera. After this meeting John Zammit was again nominated to serve the post of President for the second time after nearly two years presided by Joe Schembri. In the first Committee meeting after this Annual General Meeting John Zammit was elected as President, Paul Fenech as Vice President, Joe Mula as General Secretary and Lawrence Cutajar as Treasurer. These posts are still being occupied by the same persons till this day. For some time Tanya Gravina also performed the duties of General Secretary.
This 'new' committee embarked on the construction of a new hall which was to be interconnected with the Club's premises. A new sub-committee, chaired by Lawrence Cutajar, was formed and work on this very ambitious project started immediately. The 29th September 1999 was another very important day for the history of the club. On that day the contract of the new hall was signed at Bank of Valletta’s Head Office in Valletta. For the signing of this contract, apart from BOV representatives, there were also the owners of the land and Dr. Tony Abela MP, who prepared the contract and was one of the key persons of this venture. The contract was signed by John Zammit (President), Paul Fenech (Vice President), Joe Mula (Secretary) and Lawrence Cutajar (Treasurer) on behalf of the Club. On the 26th November of the same year the plans of this new hall were presented to the members during an activity which was held at the Sports Café, Paceville.
Another milestone was the visit of four Inter players and a number of Directors of Inter FC in June 2000. This delegation arrived in Malta on the 23rd June 2000. On the 25th June the players, Benoit Cauet, Sebastain Frey, Dario Simic and Matteo Ferrari, together with the Inter delegation lead by Julio Velasco, made an official visit to our club.
