History

Tuesday 3rd September 2002 was a remarkable day for the history of Inter Club Malta. The team was invited to play a friendly match against a selection of Maltese National team players for the occasion of the official inauguration of the Millennium stand at our National Stadium at Ta’ Qali.

During this short visit, two key Inter FC players namely Javier Zanetti and Alvaro Recoba, together with a number of Inter FC top officials, amongst them Giacinto Facchetti, visited our club. A large crowd greeted the players and the officials at the club. The local media was also invited and both players and officials answered questions put forward by the representatives of the press and supporters. At the end of the visit, our club was officially inaugurated by Zanetti, Recoba and Facchetti who unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark this occasion. Later on during the day, after the inauguration of the Millennium Stand at Ta’ Qali, Inter played the match against Malta XI and won 2-0. The team left our island immediately after the match.

Sunday 6th October 2002 was another day that marked a milestone in the club’s history. On this occasion two contracts were signed at our premises. One between Inter Club Malta and Mosta FC and the other between Mosta FC and Inter Futura. Through these signings, we brought to our shores Inter Campus, which was a dream come true after nearly two years of regular meetings with Inter Futura and various local clubs. This in order to ensure that Inter Campus in Malta is represented in the most professional manner, possibly sticking to the same colours of Inter FC. Regular training sessions were held at the Mosta FC ground led by the Inter Campus Head Coach Aldo Montanari and were also followed closely by Dott. Massimo Seregni who was the person in charge of the Inter Campus project.

The 18th August 2003 was the day that marked the 25th Anniversary of the Inter Club Malta. Exactly 25 years after the first General Meeting of our club which was held on the same day in 1978. Twenty-five years that have marked history, hard work and success for our club. Our main objective was always to follow and represent Internazionale FC in Malta.
